How Parent Info Centers Help with Special EducationThe IDEA provides funds for each state to offer Parent Training and Information Centers, and some states have Community Parent Resource Centers. These centers provide information and resources to parents of children with disabilities, including:

  • One-on-one consultation
  • Bilingual support
  • Parent support groups
  • Early intervention process
  • IEP and 504 seminars and support
  • Parent rights seminars
  • Information on specific interventions
  • Seminars and support for transition to after high school
  • Coping strategies and emotional support
  • Disability awareness

Centers do not use a consistent name state-to-state, so the easiest way to Find your local center is on the national website: Center for Parent Information and Resources.
